Up for reluctant sale is 'Gloria' the 1951 Hurricane, named in honour of her previous owner. Ex Allan and Gloria Mack car.
She's a 1951 AS Hurricane. One of 12 one of believed on the road in Australia. Club members will know it very well.Â
Whilst presenting beautifully, she has some flaws in the paintwork. There are bubbles visible in the paintwork on some panels, due to poor prep when she was sprayed 25years ago. The interior is leather, as it should be, but years of use have rubbed off some of the dye. The seats are supple. It does not need reupholstering, merely treatment and re-dying.
It started yesterday after a two month rest without drama. Dave Armstrong did a tune and service while it was on its way to me from Adelaide Hills. New tyres. I will mention that neither the horn, nor the temperature gauge work. And for whatever reason, the speedo cable disconnected from the instrument recently.Â
This car was at Leeton last year at the rally, so hopefully if you're reading this you're already familiar with her.
This car is on full NSW registration (ASM018) and could be driven home. Runs and drives beautifully for an 18HP.
I have priced it sensibly at $35,000.
