We have here my cherished 1951 Whitley (Chassis No: C1811075). Regrettably I am no longer in a position to finish it, so sadly I have to part with it.
This car has been in dry storage for the last 20+ years and, although a bit dusty, is in great condition.
The chassis and differential have been sandblasted and then painted, in chassis black, on the same day they were blasted.
The 18 hp. 2309cc straight six-cylinder engine has been re-built, is in-situ in the engine bay, and is waiting patiently to be taken for a drive. The Wilson preselector gearbox is in good operating order.
The dash has been re-finished by a ship's carpenter, with layers of beautiful varnish enhancing the timber. You will however need to source a roof lining and some other interior trimmings.
The red leather upholstery is unused since restoration. You will however see from the photos that there is some small damage from storage, but the sale will include the remaining sections of the original leather hide for these repairs.
The body will be your main focus, which you will observe from the photos is very straight and substantially free of rot and rust.
A range of spare parts are also included.
